FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What is the difference between Quest KL and Quest KL Lite?
Quest KL is a detailed, immersive treasure hunt with multiple checkpoints and challenging tasks, ideal for enhancing teamwork. Quest KL Lite offers a simplified version with fewer checkpoints, faster tasks, and a shorter duration, perfect for a more casual and time-efficient experience.
2. Who can participate in this treasure hunt?
This activity is perfect for casual city tourists, locals, friends and family, as well as corporate teams, organizations, and groups seeking a unique team-building experience. It’s suitable for participants of all fitness levels.
3. What are the roles in the team?
For Quest KL, participants need to select specific roles (e.g., Captain, Navigator, etc.) to enhance teamwork. In Quest KL Lite, the focus is on following the storyline and enjoying character-driven gameplay without role assignments.
4. Where does the treasure hunt take place?
The hunt is located within Kuala Lumpur City Center, covering both historic landmarks and modern attractions.
5. How long does the activity last?
Quest KL sessions last around 4 hours, depending on your team’s pace. Quest KL Lite typically takes about 2 hours.
6. What kind of challenges will we face?
Challenges include a mix of searching, counting, eating, drinking, photo and video tasks, and puzzles that engage your senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch—while connecting with Malaysia’s cultural heritage.
7. Is this activity conducted physically or digitally?
The activity is conducted physically but relies on your smartphone to play the game. Participants explore the city and engage in challenges at various checkpoints. Ensure your smartphone is fully charged and has sufficient internet data for a seamless experience.
8. How does the QR code system work?
At each checkpoint, you’ll find a QUEST Q logo with a QR code. Scanning it reveals a clue for the next location, a challenge to complete, and a letter. Collect all letters to form a keyword needed to complete the final task.
9. What does a self-guided tour mean? Is there a host or someone on site?
A self-guided tour means you follow the clues and storyline at your own pace without a guide accompanying you throughout the hunt. There is no constant on-site host, but you can contact the Quest KL Host for special arrangements or information.
10. What happens if we can’t solve a challenge?
You can request hints if you’re stuck, but each hint may come with a point penalty that could affect your final score, reducing your chances of winning the game.
11. How do we submit our answers?
Once you have completed all challenges and formed the keyword, submit everything via the landing page provided at the end. Make sure to enter the correct keyword or code to successfully finish the hunt.
12. What language is the hunt conducted in?
The primary language used is English, but there are also Malay elements to enhance the local experience.
